Hai to readers..
For this time I would like to
share with you about the project that my group did when we are at degree time.
That project called ‘Simulation
Assembly Car’ for subject ‘Computer
Integrated Manufacturing (CIM)’.
Introduction of Delmia Quest
Delmia Quest is software that built to help people in doing design project for layout. With Quest, we can create virtual factories described in 2-D or 3-D formats. Quest contains predefined machine, part, and labour elements that allow users to build a simulation model effectively. Quest incorporates real production variables within a plant layout, such as time length between particular machining processes, and labourers moving and operating speeds.
The application of the Quest software could be very beneficial in teaching and manufacturing practice. Though this software is primarily prepared for manufacturing optimization, it has both design and manufacturing possibilities. If more features, such as CAD software for part design, were integrated directly into the program.
Benefits of this software are Fast 3D visualization, Data integration, Simulation analysis, Statistical evaluation and Automatic model generation.
Elements of layout project (all the photo below from the author)
i- General Layout
ii - Automated Guide Vehicle (AGV): To transported the seat, bumper, rim and tire to car body assembly line.
iii- Machine : To install component/part to car body, to combine tire and rim.
iv- Sink : To place the component or part
v- Main product (car)
vi- Main conveyer : To carry the products and to move on the products from source to sink
vii- Sources: To supply the seat, bumper, rim and tire
viii- Buffer: To store temporarily components/ parts before send to the machine and conveyer.
ix- Labour: To check out the quality of each component and product produce (Quality Control), to make sure the process running smoothly and observe the machine performance.

Actually, the output of this project is the car. But, the problem is
difficulties to put the assembly car from the catia software to the delmia
quest software. So, as the result you will see the unassembled car at output.
